Old-Time Music Week May 19-May26, 2018

The focus will be on old-time American country music, or, you might call it Appalachian traditional music, and, following the interest shown at out September 2017 camp, we are open to suggestions for any blues classes that you might want to include.

We will feature instrumental classes for fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and ukulele, as well as group and individual singing classes.  Once again the teaching is hosted by Dave Bing, who we regard as the finest source of old-time music we know, both as a player and an educator.  Dave is joined by Alan Green, Johnny Whelan, Lucy Ray, Kate Lissauer, and others to be announced.

In addition, our guest teachers may offer classes on their favourite topics, such as various banjo styles, beginners’ instrumental, ukulele, or singing with your instrument.  In fact, you can request tuition in any topic related to old-time country music, and we will  do our best to accommodate you.

The price is £650 for everything apart from travel and transfers.  This includes accommodation and meals, tuition, and use of all facilities.  We will arrange your transfers at the lowest possible prices.

A £50 discount is available to those who chose to camp on site.  We provide tents, mattresses and bedding, and you chose your site on (or off) the grounds.  Many people prefer this option, as it allows for greater privacy and enjoyment of nature.
