Old-Time Music Week April 30 – May 7, 2016

This is one of our most exciting weeks ever, because of the wonderful teachers who will be with us, and the range of workshops that will be available to us.  Alice Gerrard will be joining us once again, and we are looking forward to having this legend of old-time country and bluegrass music lead us in music and song.  Her knowledge and good companionship are a delight to all.  Alice will be joined this time by one of her long-time musical partners, Tom Sauber, a luminary of the old-time country scene in the US due to his brilliance as instrumentalist and singer.  Both teachers are at the pinnacle of their field, and carry a wealth of knowledge and teaching skill.  We cannot recommend them highly enough, and we urge you not to miss this rare opportunity to spend an intimate week in their excellent company. A new highlight of the week will be a songwriting group, facilitated by master songwriters Alice Gerrard (Alice was nominated for a Grammy for her recent recorded project of original work,’Bittersweet’) and Sooz Clare.  We’re also excited to be welcoming back Buffalo Gals’ amazing Sibs Riesen, offering percussive step-dance, and Buffalo Gals’ own Johnny Whelan, with his unique and popular approach to beginners’ and finger-style banjo. You can enrol on this course using the form available here on the website, or contact us by email for any further information and support.
